Bio
Born (April 18th 1989) and raised in Maracas St. Joseph – Trinidad, Seumas Keelan Callender is described as one of the most successful underground Artiste/ Producers in Trinidad & Tobago. The Trinidadian Song Writer/Rapper/ Singer/ Music Producer is known by his stage name "AZARYAH" (formerly Flipo).
To date, Azaryah has produced, recorded, collaborated and written for various established artiste such as: Benjai, 3Suns, Gailann, Umi Marcano, Fireball, Ataklan, KMC, H2o Phlo, Collis Duranty, Maximus Dan, Lil Bitts, Mr. King, Squeezy Rankin.
As Flipo he began his musical journey at the age of fifteen (15), beating the desk at school, rapping and free styling with classmates. At that tender age he also taught himself to make beats via one of the most popular music production systems in the world Fruity Loops 3. Flipo credits his classmate for introducing the Fruity Loops program to him. Producing beats eventually evolved and came into play as years passed by.
Three (3) years later he found himself signing contracts as an artiste / producer to the first Hip – Hop Label in Trinidad & Tobago (PRO RECORDS) with his first Hip – Hop Single entitled “Another Murder”. The song was made due to the high murder rate in Trinidad and was released in 2007 on the television show “SPALK”with talk show host at the time Anil Roberts. The music video had cameos by Billboard Chart topping artist Fireball, Nebula 868 and Trinidad & Tobago National Boxer Kertson Manswell whom at that time was signed with American boxing promoter Don King. With the level of music being produced a couple of Major US Record Labels were sending (Pro Records) contracts for record deals.
Fresh out of Secondary School now working in a Recording Studio with a serious passion for music, Flipo then enrolled himself into the National Energy Skills Center (NESC), and successfully completed a course in Music Production and Sound Reinforcement.
The upcoming year of performing at various nightclubs throughout Trinidad & Tobago, the Pro Records Artiste team Including Flipo were deemed the best act at the time; landing them a giant position opening for International Recording Artiste at the T - Pain and Keyshia Cole at Summerfest 2008. Also headlining shows such as the: Boomchampions Block Party in 2007, B Mobile/ Boomchampions Soca School Tour in 2007 and Soca for Summer in 2008
Flipo has performed with live bands such as "The Ricky Bobby Band" – band members included; Ricardo Rameshwar, who is also the musical director and keyboardist for Trinidad and Tobago's soca recording artiste, Destra and her band, Atlantik and Marlon Roach who is now a band member of Bunji Garlin & the Vikings.
In the years 2011 and 2012, Flipo hit rock bottom by struggling to cope with the loss of two (2) of his very close friends. Late 2012 Jamaican Dancehall Star Vybz Kartel US based music Producer Dre Skull approached Flipo to do song writing on two records.
From then to now, Flipo released his first Soca Single “Doh Tell Meh Dat” (produced by International DJ/Beatmaker/Producer - Soca Dennis). “Doh Tell Meh Dat” landed Flipo the number ten (10) spot on Swedish National Radio: Top 100 Songs of 2013, over the likes of, Drake - Hold On, We’re Going Home (#11), Migos - Versace (#17) and Major Lazer "Watch Out For This (Bumaye)" feat Busy Signal (#21)
On January 8th 2014, The International Soca Monarch Fan Page via Facebook congratulated Flipo on his achievement. On January 11th 2014, “Doh Tell Meh Dat” was featured after the Tv6 News, creating more of a buzz in Trinidad & Tobago.
Flipo has been touring the globe, visiting countries like the United States of America, Barbados and Martinique just to name a few. On the 18th August, 2014 a surprise blast for the official EDM remix of Flipo’s “Doh Tell Meh Dat” was released by Major Lazer, which created massive waves in the European and Caribbean market once again.
In 2017 Flipo is no more Azaryah is now prominent.
